Eastside Schoolhouse Gardens is nestled in the heart of Milton-Freewater, Oregon’s rich farm land. Our story begins with a historic 1912 two-room school, a cherished piece of our valley, that has stood sentinel over generations of children and through passing seasons . When we first toured the property we didn’t just see a vacant building-we saw potential.

As lifelong gardeners, we envisioned restoring life to the neglected grounds and eventually the buildings. In 2021, we took a leap of faith and purchased the schoolhouse, knowing it needed a whole lot of care, and love to bring it back to life. The plan is to create a farm that supports the maintenance of the schoolhouse. We know creating a thriving farmstand from an acre of weeds and vacant buildings is a monumental task. But, we believe investing in the schoolhouse is the best legacy we can offer our community.

The schoolhouse isn’t just home to flowers-it’s a place for creativity to thrive. we love hosting crafting nights, where people can gather, learn new skills, and create something beautiful with their own hands. These workshops blend artistry and connection in an inspiring space.
